Volunteers go top of Bulmers Men’s Darts League

Volunteers moved to joint top of the John Smith’s Bulmers Men’s Darts League with a 6-3 win over previously unbeaten Acomb.

Paul Botterill (19), Dave Mason (18) and Paul Cooper (17, 180) starred for Volunteers.

Clifton’s Martyn Turner (16, 19) and Chris Thompson (18) gave them a 6-3 win at New Inn.

Fulfordgate’s John Mooring (180 for 16, 16) and Craig Wedge (17, 19) could not prevent a 6-3 defeat at Shepherds, whose best were Shaun Day (18, 18) and Dave Gibbon (bull checkout).
