Darts legend Bobby George will be raising money for charity in Mid Bedfordshire this month.

The ‘King of Darts’ (pictured) will be at the White Hart pub in Mill Lane, Campton, on Wednesday December 13 for an exhibition match to raise funds for children with leukaemia.
Organisers Lee Jackson and Ed Goodman are delighted to have the Essex arrow thrower coming to the village to raise money.
Lee said: “We started running a quiz a year ago and we decided that any money raised would be passed on to the charity which was the pub landlord’s choice.
“So far we’ve raised about £1,200, but the darts night is going to be really special.
Bobby will play some exhibition games, but also take on anyone who donates to the charity. It doesn’t mater how much, just as long as we make some money.
“We are going to have a big raffle and we will even be giving away the board used on the night that Bobby is very kindly bringing along with him.” Ed added: “Bobby has been a household name ever since he picked up a candelabra, but youngsters also know him from his time on Celebrity Fit Club.

THE Darts Regulation Authority have released the following statement regarding Robbie Green on Thursday 29 November.
The Darts Regulation Authority ('DRA') announced today that the independent Anti-Doping Tribunal (chaired by barrister John Brennan, sitting alone) has ruled that Robbie Green has been found to have committed a Doping Offence under the Anti-Doping Rules of the DRA ('the Rules').
A sample collected from Robbie Green at the Budweiser UK Open Darts Championship on 11 June 2006 tested positive for cannabinoids listed as a 'Specified Substance' under the World Anti-Doping Code and the Rules. A Specified Substance, where there was no intention to enhance performance, carries a minimum sanction of a warning and a maximum of 1 year's ineligibility.
A provisional suspension was imposed upon Robbie Green from 20 September 2006. This provisional suspension was lifted by the independent Tribunal on 30 October 2006 and in the Anti-Doping Tribunal's final decision Robbie Green was found ineligible to play until 29 November 2006. Robbie Green did not play competitive darts during the period between the lifting of the provisional suspension and the final Decision of the Tribunal. The technical period of ineligibility, however, was eight weeks and two days.
The full version of the Tribunal's written decision will be available on the DRA website.
In addition to the ineligibility sanction imposed by the Anti-Doping Tribunal Robbie Green was also subject to Article 9.1.1 of the Rules which provides that a Doping Offence in competition automatically leads to disqualification of the result obtained by the player involved, including in relation to any points or prizes. Accordingly any points gained at the UK Open have been deducted and Robbie Green was asked to repay any prize monies before being eligible to play competitive darts again.
Article 9.5 of the Rules states that there will be no adjustment of results, points or prizes for any opponent of a player subsequently found to have committed a Doping Offence and accordingly the results, points and prizes of any opponent of Robbie Green during the UK Open on 11 June 2006 will remain as they were.
The PDC has indicated that since Robbie Green has now repaid his prize money from the event he is now eligible to enter the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship PDPA Qualifiers on 2 December 2006.
A separate fine of £2000 has also been imposed in relation to this matter by the Disciplinary Committee of the DRA.

AS teams embark on the season's return fixtures in the Carlsberg UK Open League, the battle for Premier Darts honours is the closest for some time.
The top five teams defeated the bottom five which resulted in no positional changes.
Leaders Pioneers top scored, their 6-2 win at bottom placed Amalgamated B taking them two points clear of Commercial, Delamere and Hawk who all won 5-3 to maintain identical points and match win tallies.

Robbie (Kong) Green has failed a drug test. He's a darts player, not a weight lifter, a football player, a 100-metre sprinter, a speed skater, wrestler or even Mr. Universe. He's a darts player and now the first professional flinger to test positive for marijuana.
This is news because who knew the United Kingdom, where Kong Green was busted, was even testing professional darts players? A few of you, maybe. But to those of us who wouldn't know Phil Taylor (the world's greatest player) from Dr. Phil, it seems rather odd to be testing guys whose field of play is usually located in a bar.
While most darts players refuse to drink during competitions — bad for the aim, they say — many have been known to down the odd pint of beer after matches. Apparently, that's okay as long as they don't drive home. But take a hit on a joint? Look out, Kong. Here come the dope police.
According to a story filed by The Associated Press, Green, who has his nickname Kong tattooed onto the back of his shorn head, was a quarterfinalist at the UK Open in June when he tested positive for pot. For that, he has been banned for eight weeks and two days by the haughty-sounding Darts Regulation Authority.
First question: who came up with the idea to test darters? Did someone have to convince UK Sports this was a major problem that had to be dealt with and quickly? ("Gentlemen, there are doping darters out there who are ruining the game and setting a bad example for our youth.")
Most of the darters I've seen on televised events are guys who couldn't run around a football field. They're not built for that; they're built for throwing a pointy, feathered object, having a few beers and perhaps a smoke or two. This is not the Olympic decathlon and everyone, even kids, knows that.
Next question: what would UK Sports have done if Kong Green had tested positive for anabolic steroids or human growth hormones? Would they have gone after Victor Conte? Would Green have been suspended for life? Me, I'm thinking if you're good enough to make the UK Open quarterfinals with marijuana in your system then you should get free beer for the rest of the tournament.
The AP story didn't say whether Green would appeal his suspension. As Canadian snowboarder Ross Rebagliati proved at the 1998 Winter Olympics, you can always blame it on second-hand smoke — and that industrial-strength hemp from Whistler, B.C. — and get off without a hitch.
Fortunately for Green, he'll be back in time to have a go at winning the world championship. Until then, sources close to UK Sport say the organization is ready to test participants in cribbage, lawn bowling, crossword puzzles and foosball.
There will also be a special crackdown on dopers who play solitaire.

A good turnout for the Annual Pirates’ Week Darts saw some familiar faces back at the ‘oche’ racking up some impressive scores.
According to recently elected Cayman Islands Darts Association (CIDA) President, Arthur Ebanks, the tournament was a complete success with a very high standard of play. “It was amazing to see the old pros back in the groove, John ‘the Killer’ Nixon and Trevor ‘Grand Master’ Lloyd. They both displayed a great style, in doing so they made the tournament more challenging and the younger players had to step up to the oche more seriously to receive the results that they achieved,” Mr Ebanks observed.

Empire Darts Club of Arusha did Tanzania Darts proud by emphatically winning the Taifa-Taveta Uhusiano Mwema Darts tournament, held at Taveta, Kenya over the weekend.
Empire team beat Empire A in he finals with a score of 19-13.
The winning Empire teams were represented by Zoeb Kaley (captain), Tager Abbas, Antony Fiorentine, Godwin Aswile, Jonas Batareza., Silas Malle, Freed Mshana.
Others are Abizer Kurban, Abdul Kadir, Amasha Mustapha, Edson D, Albert A, and Laizer Johnson.
Empire B team reached the finals by thumping Challa B darts club by a score of 19-17. Empire A reached the finals by beating Challa A 19-5.

The 16 year-old from March has been called into the Cambridgeshire squad for their long British Inter-Counties Premier Division trip to face Cornwall for the first time since 1985.
Cooper will line up in the Mens' 'B' squad at the Mount Charles Social Club in St Austell as the two counties renew rivalries after a 21-year break.

PAT'S Angels pulled off their first League victory of the season in Barbara Rawlinson Memorial Darts League's Section One.
With the match against Pavilions Wanderers lying at three across, E Ritchie hit two tons to take the anchor leg.
Angels repeated their success in the Challenge contest, which they also won narrowly.
There were tons from Wanderers' L Lamb and L Shaw of Pat's.
War Memorial enjoyed double success against Bottom House.

PAT'S Angels pulled off their first League victory of the season in Barbara Rawlinson Memorial Darts League's Section One.
With the match against Pavilions Wanderers lying at three across, E Ritchie hit two tons to take the anchor leg.
Angels repeated their success in the Challenge contest, which they also won narrowly.
There were tons from Wanderers' L Lamb and L Shaw of Pat's.
War Memorial enjoyed double success against Bottom House.
