Darts - Dearne Today: DARTS ace Dennis Priestley's dreams...

Sport - Dearne Today: "DREAMS DASHED
DARTS ace Dennis Priestley's dreams of taking the World Matchplay title in Blackpool were dashed when he narrowly lost out 16-13 to eventual tournament winner and arch rival Phil Taylor in the quarter finals.
Priestley, the former world number one, looked to be back to his sparkling best and gave Taylor a rough ride, but the man from Stoke-on-Trent fought back from behind three times to go forward to the semi-finals.
The match against Mexborough-based Priestley proved to be his toughest of the tournament, with Taylor going on to beat Andy Hamilton 17-11 in the semi-finals and overcoming James Wade 18-11 in the final.
Priestley showed true fighting spirit, and battled back from 8-6 down to lead 10-8 with four consecutive legs. But his rival kept his nerve and went on to win."
