DARTS: Wilts finish in style
Despite being unbeaten in nine inter-county games this season they fell four points (two wins) short of their goal of a place in Division Three next season.
The Moonraker county became the first team in BDO inter-county championship history to go undefeated but fail to gain promotion and were left rueing drawing four of their first six matches.

Jubilation for county outfit - April 29, 2009
On Sunday, with Fitton as team captain and O’Shea also playing a major role, Cheshire’s men’s A team secured British Inter-Counties Championship title glory following a 7-5 last-day victory against Hampshire down in Farnham.
The dramatic win handed Cheshire the title by just a single point from second-placed - and fierce rivals - Yorkshire.

DARTS: Ton-up Fowler to face Cambridgeshire
Following on from their victory over Cheshire last month, Oxon will be confident against their opponents who are on the same number of points.

DARTS: Oxon give Cheshire the chop
Oxon’s ladies A and B teams both recorded 4-2 wins, while the men’s A team went down 7-5 and the B team drew 6-6.
Although the men’s A team were pipped, Steve Foster, with a 29.81 average, provided the highlight of the match by claiming the notable scalp of world championship runner-up Tony O’Shea. (full article...)

Darts: Essex triumph

Essex kept their unbeaten record in the British Inter Counties Darts Championship with a 22-14 away win over London.
The result came after a 20-16 opening game defeat of Staffordshire. The men's B team set the scene for Essex with a 8-4 sets win.
Essex open champ Steve Johnson, from Wickford, got his sixth win in a row with a 3-0 performance, while Southend's Billy McMahon also recorded a maximum.
The ladies' B team had to settle for a 3-3 draw and the ladies' A team pulled off a shock win by defeating a London team featuring four international players 3-2.
To rub salt into the wounds the men's A team inflicted the first defeat in 11 games on the Londoners' A team by beating them 7-5. (story source...)
DARTS: Wiltshire checked by late Shropshire fightback
After a comprehensive win on the Isle of Wight in their opening Division Four match of the 2008/09 campaign, they were held to a draw at home by Avon (West of England). (full report...)

Tyne and Wear extended their unbeaten start
In the men's A team match, Chris Lisle took Tyne and Wear's man-of-the-match award, thanks to a 3-0 victory and an average of 26.84.
Andy Chalmers (20.31), Scott McParlin (23.48), and Paul Williams (23.79) also notched wins for the visitors.
