Premier League 3/4/2010 - Lewis v Wade
Lewis v. Wade was a great match with Wade taking the early lead, but Lewis was able to battle back to a 3-3 tie at the break. After the break Lewis again built a lead, and threatened to win all the points while at a 7-4 advantage. Lewis however was having none of it and forced a 7-7 tie. Favorite checkout of the match... Wade bull, bull, d16 to finish the 132.

Darts: Adams takes a swipe at Premier League
LAKESIDE champion Martin Adams has passionately defended the British Darts
Organisation and taken a swipe at the PDC by claiming: “We are the sport”.
Professional Darts Corporation chief Barry Hearn last month saw his big-money offer
for the BDO rejected by the counties in a move welcomed by Adams.
The PDC’s stars will entertain a large crowd at the Bournemouth International Centre
tonight when the Whyte and Mackay Premier League bandwagon rolls into town.
But Adams, while on a visit to Winton-based Double Top Darts Shop last week, stated
emphatically that he would not follow the well-trodden path from the BDO to the PDC.

King aims to blow away rivals
By PHIL LANNING
Published: 10 Feb 2009
rigTeaserImage
MERVYN KING sparked outrage by claiming AIR CONDITIONING blew his darts off course in a World Championship semi-final — and now he’s ready to blow away his Premier League rivals.
Nearly man King has missed out in two BDO Lakeside world finals to Aussie Tony David in 2002 and Andy Fordham in 2004.
But sandwiched between them was a semi defeat to Raymond van Barneveld and his outburst that the air con had ruined his game.
King, 42, is much more mild-mannered these days and is finding his Whyte & Mackay debut a breeze, hitting the top of the table after the opening clashes with an 8-1 thrashing of Wayne Mardle.
He said: "I'm better than I used to be but I definitely speak my mind, I don't hold back. I don't take any s***.
"It was a fact that the air con ruined my game against Barney in that semi-final and I made that blatantly clear.
"I certainly won't be a pushover and my rivals know that. I haven't done the business in a big final yet but I will do. I'm a fighter.
“It’s very early days in the league but it was a good feeling to make such a good start in Liverpool last week.
“Wayne’s a difficult bloke to play against because he can be a world beater when he wants to be, so you have to prepare to play him at his very best.
“It’s nice to lead the table but to be honest it would feel even better if I was leading it at week 12 or 13.
“Consistency is the key in the Premier League, you can’t lose that many matches so that’s what makes this Thursday in Edinburgh so vital. If I can get off to a good start with two wins I will establish myself in the top four early on.
“It’s all about making the top four. Once you get into the semi-finals anything can happen."
Now he faces World No 2 James Wade in Edinburgh tomorrow night — hoping that Scotland brings him more glory.
He added: “The crucial thing for me is that I peak at the right times during the league.
"I have good consistency but I have times when I play really well. If I can do that against the big players then I know I can do well.
“I’m certainly not in the Premier League to just make up the numbers. I qualified on merit as World No 6 and I reckon I can make the play-offs. If I play to my best ability in the semi-finals I can beat anyone.
“But firstly I need to just make the top four. If I can win in Edinburgh then I’ll stay top of the league and I’ll be very happy.
“James is a very tough player, you don’t become world No 2 by a fluke. He’s not at his beest right now but he’s still a very hard player to beat.
"But I’m feeling good and I’ve got the game to win.
“I certainly won’t let the air con upset me anyway. I’m a much cooler character these days." (story source...)

‘Get In’ with Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts
The Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts kicked-off on the 5th February and will be live on Sky every Thursday night until the end of May.
Darts is fast becoming one of the hottest sports around and is the 2nd most watched sport on Sky behind Premier League football. Hundreds of thousands of eager darts fans will tune in every week to watch their heroes take to the oche and commence battle for the coveted Whyte & Mackay Premier League trophy.
The fun and popularity has come back into darts and this is something that can easily be transferred into a pub setting. Publicans should look to set up a league of their own or show every televised match to encourage customers and their mates to get out of the house and down into their local to enjoy a few drinks and maybe throw a few darts.
If publicans can look to capitalise on this big money entertainment extravaganza then they too can be looking to generate incremental profits for their bar.
The Morning Advertiser has teamed up with Whyte & Mackay to offer the chance to have one of the best darts players in the world join an amateur darts team for a night.
One of the 8 players from the Whyte & Mackay Premier League – including Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, Wayne ‘Hawaii 501’ Mardle and Terry ‘The Bull’ Jenkins - will become a member of the pub team for one night helping to take a local side to victory or even to just take on a publican in a one to one match in their local.
All you need to do is email your name, telephone number and address of your outlet to darts@whyteandmackay.com
2 lucky runners-up will each receive a pair of tickets to the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Finals night at Wembley on the 25th May 2009.
Terms and Conditions
Please insert standard T&C’s. Entrants must be over 18 years old. Closing date for entries is the INSERT. Winners will be chosen at random and be notified by INSERT. Player and player appearance dates are subject to availability. Player will be selected by Whyte & Mackay but will be one of the following Phil Taylor, Raymond Van Barneveld, James Wade, Terry Jenkins, Mervyn King, Jelle Klaassen, Wayne Mardle or John Part. Taylor up for Ricoh revenge
Phil Taylor will be on a revenge mission when the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts visits Coventry's Ricoh Arena later this month.
Taylor will be joined by seven other darts stars as the tournament returns to Coventry for the third of 14 league nights on Thursday, February 19.
He faces Herefordshire's Terry "The Bull" Jenkins at the Ricoh Arena in the first of four games to be played on the night, in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Taylor lost to Peter Manley at the venue last year, a week after Jenkins had also defeated the 14-time World Champion in Manchester - and 'The Power' is out to erase those memories.
"I'm looking forward, in a perverse way, to getting back to Coventry," said Taylor.
"After last year's result I'm really keen to put on a better show this time around! Peter Manley rubbed it in a bit when he beat me, and it spurred me on to turn my game around and get back to the top last year.
"My game's totally different now and I'll be full of confidence for the Premier League, so bring it on!
"Terry's a tremendous player and he's really come back into form in the last few months and it should be a good battle.
"He beat me in the Premier League last year and I've not forgotten that, and hopefully I can give the fans in Coventry a night to remember."
The night will also see the players ranked second and third in the world - James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld - meet before Mervyn King faces three-time World Champion John Part.
The final game sees the tournament's two wildcard selections, Holland's former World Champion Jelle Klaasen and crowd favourite Wayne "Hawaii 501" Mardle, go head-to-head.
Tickets (£30 and £20) are available from the Ricoh on 08444 121 747, with a family enclosure also available.
