1. King of the Hill 2 – What a Day!

We had one heck of a day at King of the Hill 2 on April 4th, including a near perfect game from Dan Olson and 45 people watching the final 2 play it out for the title! After all was said and done, we have a new King of the Hill - Bernie Miller from Fergus now holds the crown and title as well as all the cash and swag that comes from being King.

The cost is $25 for either event.

3. Spread the Word – Help us Go Viral

No, we don’t mean give people a cold bug, we mean help spread the word about Toronto Darts.

Our mission is simple: To get more people playing more darts and get them enjoying it more.

If that sounds good to you, forward this newsletter to people you think might enjoy reading it.

The more people we have coming to our site, the more we can offer back – especially our monthly contests.

Note: In most e-mail programs, all you have to do is choose FORWARD with this message active and choose who to send it to.

If you send it via bcc or Blind Carbon Copy, e-mail addresses are hidden, so you won’t be giving out e-mails of people who wish to stay private.

4. Dart Cards – Fun for Players of All Abilities

Ever wonder how to make the game of darts fun again for players of all levels – even beginners? Ever wish there was a game you could play that gave even novice players a fighting chance ton-machine veterans?

Well, with Dart Cards, now you can.

With 4 different colour-coded series of cards in each set, Dart Cards can help you handicap a game of darts to make it fun and enjoyable for all.

Read more about how to invigorate your love of the game of darts: www.dartcards.com

5. Have You Entered Our Monthly Contest Yet?

You can’t win if you don’t enter, so if you haven't entered this month’s contest, or think you haven’t, enter now:

http://www.torontodarts.com/entertowin.html

Don't worry about duplicate entries because our software will find them. Only one entry per person per month will count.

6. Question of the Month: What’s With "A" Players?

We’ve heard a lot of "A" players across southern Ontario complain about the lack of events and league activities for them to participate in over the past couple of years.

However, when we run events or present events to these same "A" players, they don’t show up or even seem interested.

So what is with these guys? Are they just natural-born complainers, or is it us who are getting too crusty for our own good?

Click here to add your 2 cents:

http://www.torontodarts.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=885

7. Last Month’s Nodor-Swiftflyte Winner

Congratulations to Karen Neilson from Niagara Falls for winning a brand new Nodor-Swiftflyte board. Coincidentally, Karen was the first ever winner of one of our boards back in Fall 2007. Might be just in time for a replacement.

8. Tournaments & Events – Lots of Dart Action

9. This Month’s Dart Video(s)

After watching Dan Olson almost throw a perfect game in our King of the Hill 2 tournament, we started to wax a bit nostalgic for Canadian Dart Accomplishments. The first thing that comes to mind is the 2nd World Championship for John Part in 2003 vs. Phil Taylor, which many people claim to be one of the best ever.

1. King of the Hill 2

We’re pleased to announce we’ll be holding a Second King of the Hill Tournament on Saturday, April 4th, 2009.

Designed to provide local dart players with tournament experience, King of the Hill 2 will provide one of Canada’s highest payouts in darts this year for a singles event – with approximately $600 going to the winner (depending on number of tickets sold).

This event will be held at the Owl’s Club (ANAF 306). With 19 boards, the Owl’s is one of the only venues in city centre able to accommodate the number of people we’re expecting for this event.

Tickets are $25 on an individual basis, but we are inviting leagues and legions to purchase 5-10 tickets each at a discount.

For more details click here: http://www.torontodarts.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=778

2. Singles Shoots – Join One

We’ve now got 4 Monday Singles Shoots under way.

These are No Travel shoots, running for 12 weeks, and with the ultimate in flexibility. The goal of each shoot is to give players a great night of darts, offering as much darts as 2 or 3 regular league nights.

Show up for just a night or commit to the balance of the season. All our locations are nearly at capacity, so let us know if you’re interested today.

Our current Monday night locations are:

Gabby’s in High Park; Ferret & Firkin and Madison Ave. Pub at Spadina and Bloor and On Cue Billiards at Jane and Annette.

Contact us now if you’d like to join or for more information: http://www.torontodarts.com/utility/contact.html

If you contact us before our expiry, you can qualify for this FREE service up until the 2009-2010 season!

This offer is open to any league in North America.

Our program allows captains to directly enter match results. The system automatically does everything after that. Leagues can simply update their information and captains have an area to post messages to their players as well.

If your league would like to take us up on this offer, contact us immediately as we only have a few more spots we can offer:

4. 2008 Mega Draw Prize Winners

For 2 years running we have given away the World’s Best Dart Prizes. In fact, we’d even say they’re the best dart prizes you could win without ever having to throw a dart!

Congratulations to Dave Potter and Andrew Drummond for winning top prizes in the Toronto Darts 2008 Mega Draw.

Dave won the coveted grand prize – a brand new DartMaster 3 from the manufacturer Technology Plus, and Andrew won a set of high-end Target Darts from F.G. Bradleys and a new Nodor-Swiftflyte dartboard from B.Y. Group.

All you have to do to qualify for our year end Mega Draw is to enter our monthly contests. Each entry you make through the year automatically gives you an entry to our Mega Draw. Enter each and every month and you’ll receive 12 Mega Draw entries. It doesn’t get easier than that.

5. Last Month’s Nodor-Swiftflyte Winner

Congratulations to Pete Maggiacomo who plays in the Metro Toronto Area Dart League (MTADL), for winning a brand new Nodor-Swiftflyte board. We hope Pete gets lots of use out of his prize. After picking up his new board at an F.G. Bradley’s store, Pete wrote back saying:

I picked up my new dart board last night. Maybe it will improve my darts but I am spreading the word about Toronto Darts.com to all my buddies on my team and in the league.

Thanks Pete.

7. This Month’s Dart Video

If you’re aware of the recent PDC World Championship that concluded just after the New Year, you may be aware of Raymond van Barneveld’s perfect game in his quarter-final match.

Watch around the 48 second mark as Barney hits his 7th and 8th darts into his triples target, and note how the crowd rises up in cheer and dies down quickly to not disturb his throw.
