#darts #ADOdarts Clarification on the qualifier process
Clarification on the qualifier process. Also, check the ADO website, www.adodarts.com
The ADO is going to move forward with open format of the National Playoff Program.
* Association/Local Playoffs
* National Qualifiers (Old Regionals)
* National Finals
Association/Local Playoffs = These are events that help players win their $110 entry fee into the National Qualifiers
National Qualifiers = These Qualifiers will be played in the same way that the OLD REGIONALS were, $110 entry fee, 3 leg Round Robin, 1 person advancing for every 8 participants. What is different from the past regionals is the fact that there can be more than one National Qualifier in a geographic Region, players will be able to play more than one National Qualifier, and you can play in any qualifier, anywhere in the country. Once you qualify for the National Finals, you can no longer participate in future National Qualifiers for that specific National Playoff Program. The player will keep the HIGHEST amount of points he received for a National Qualifier for that specific National Playoff Program. All National Qualifiers MUST be posted on the ADO National Qualifier calendar at least 14 days prior to the date of the qualifier. All results must be sent to the ADO office within 7 days of the event.
National Finals = WINMAU WORLD MASTERS, ALL STAR CHALLENGE & NAT'L 501 CHAMPIONSHIP, US TEAM, CRICKET SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP.
All official ADO Rules and Regulations pertaining to ADO Regionals will be updated within the next week.
Regards,
David Hascup
Communications Officer

from the email stack... ADO Region II-2... Regional locations...
Hello everyone, as I near the last 6 months of my term as ADO Regional Director, I wanted to say thanks to the many that helped out and supported the regionals in the last year and a half. It has been an interesting time for me, as well. I wish life was able to allow me the chance to do many of the things with this position that I had hoped to accomplish, but well....life and work tend to call first and the loudest, and in these tough economic times, it is folks like me and you who are grateful to have the jobs we do and will do everything they can to ensure their success in them. This never means that darts and the game is not important, but just sometimes needs to take a back seat to the realities of life.
I would foremost like to thank the members of the GSDDA. Their constant and continued support for each and every regional event has been without fail. I commend all of you and I wish that all the leagues in the region had the same dedication to the regional events. GSDDA has without fail sent anywhere from 3-6 participants for each event, whether they be league qualifiers or players paying their own money to play. I thank you all for your support, as the regionals would never have been a success without it. In return for those efforts and in closing to my term as Regional Director, I have arranged for GSDDA to host the last two remaining regional events for this year.
The next regional is for the US Team where the winners will go on to compete at the National Playoffs in Denver, Colorado in October. The date for the mens regional is set for August 10th starting at 10am at the Fleet Reserve in Poway. I was advised that the management has arranged for food to be available that day, more than likely at their usual $5 a plate, to help support the event. Thanks much to Deb Pundt, GSDDA ADO Rep for arranging the event and for everything she has done to ensure GSDDA's continued strong participation at the regionals. The cricket regional dates are still pending.
Our women's regionals, while they started off with a pretty good bang and we sent quite a few women to compete in the last year and a half, which is more than what we have sent in quite a number of years, the participation seems to have waned, so I am still working on this and determining when and where we can have a regional event, or if there will even be any participants for it.
In conclusion, thanks to all of you for your continued support, your words of praise and your assistance when needed. It is teamwork that really makes these events happen and I could not have accomplished all of this without the help and support from the many of you out there.
As an added note, I wanted to also take a moment to advise you of an upcoming special event in this area called Baby Angel's Trust, which is an event to help assist a child who was brutally attacked by his father. Please click on the link below to go to the SCDV website that has all the information available for the event.

As an FYI....complete results for PacMania II are now listed on The Martell's website- link.

Thanks again everyone for everything and looking forward to seeing you at some darting events in the future.

from the email inbox... 3-18-09 - ADO Regional 2-2
Hi all.
Just a reminder for this weekend and I have attached the flyer for the Pat Murphy Open. Hope to see you all there.
Also, the men's Masters regional will be at the Fleet Reserve in Poway on Sunday. Start time will be 10am.
Unfortunately, we did not have any women to participate in the ladies regional last weekend, however, if I can gather some interest and get some raffle tickets going at the Pat Murphy, the ladies could play a regional on Sunday and start at noon. Please ladies, if you are interested, let me know and find me at PMO to get things going.
See y'all this weekend!

... email for ADO Region 3
Hi All,
Well, we lost our venue for the 16th In Austin, Special Olympics rented the entire Bowling alley for one of their events, Including the Bar. (did not know they had bar sports in the Olympics, maybe I can finally compete!!)
Any Way, the cricket regionals will now be on Sunday the 16th of November.
Coopers sports bar 753 ISOM
San Antonio Texas
11 am sign in and 12 am START.
They have 8 boards so unless I get confirmation that we are going to have more than the 4 or 5 woman and 11 men we will be fine.
I have 3 other bars within a 5 mile drive if we need the space.
RSVP Would be really cool.
Pass on to all your contacts would help too.
Chris Helms
Area 3 manager.

New Jersey Darts: Masters Regional Report and American Baseball Darts
Last Saturday the American Dart Organization had its Regional Qualifiers for the World Masters Nationals. Winners advance to the National Finals in Charlotte, NC, where they compete with other winners for a chance to represent the U.S. in the World Masters International Dart Tournament in England. I had to miss this year because I have a big teaching gig in Baltimore on the date of the National Finals. However, Dave Hascup and Tom Waterman attended and reported the men's results.

Santa Barbara ADO Regional at the James Joyce
Here's an update on the on the Santa Barbara ADO Regional from Phil O'Neill:
Yesterday Santa Barbara hosted the Regional at the James Joyce. A total of 7 players participated for a chance at a spot in North Carolina for the US Masters Team. Only myself (Phil O'Neill) and Mick Farrell were the 2 people representing Santa Barbara in the event. Unfortunately for both Mick and myself we both were very slow to get things going not playing anywhere close to our usual potential but we both picked it up as the day went on. The highlight of the day was the best game thrown, a 12 dart 501 game I threw (T40, T25, T40, 96out). Overall there were some incredible darts thrown throughout the day including a back to back T80 by the eventual winner John Kramer. I think there were a total of 14 - T80's on the day for all of us! The event came down to John Kramer and Doug McDonough tied going into the final match between them. First man to take 2 legs would win. Unfortunate for Doug he fell off form and John continued to play superb. John will be going on as our area's representative for the US Masters try outs.

ADO regional change of venue...
This email is regarding the ADO regional that WAS set to be held at Dargan's in Santa Barbara. It will be held at the James Joyce
Today we were notified that Dargan's in Santa Barbara is no longer interested in supporting darts. Very nice of them to let us know 3 days before we start our new league!!!!!!
So this means for next weeks Regional there will be a change of venue. The James Joyce in Santa Barbara on State St will be hosting the event. They have 4 boards so it should be just fine. Actually they are a great bar, have the best Guinness in town and have been very enthusiastic about supporting our dart league.
Here is the information for the James Joyce:
James Joyce
www.thejamesjoyce.com
513 State St
Santa Barbara, CA 93101
(805) 962-2688
As for the league play, we will be having a new venue open up at The Green Room on State St. They will not be ready by this week but we still plan on starting on Tuesday. I will have to completely redo the schedule I worked on all day yesterday now that Dargan's is dropping out. I hope to have it up on the website by sometime tonight.
Thanks for your patience through all of this. Sometimes it's a very thankless job and very frustrating. I know everyone wants to start league asap and I'm one of them as well.
See you Tuesday.
Phil
