Nine dart finish boost for Gurney

LONDONDERRY darts professional Daryl Gurney received a great boost in confidence last night on the eve of this year's Six Nations Darts Tournament, by hitting a nine dart finish at a warm up event in Drumahoe
The event at the Traveller's Inn gave local arrows enthusiasts the opportunity to take their chances against the sports big names. And Daryl Gurney was joined at the local hostelry by fellow professionals Tony O'Shea and Daryl Fitton.
Earlier this year, all three of these professionals made a great impact at the BDO World Darts Championships at the famous Lakeside venue at Frimley Green in Surrey. (full article...)

Gurney family proud of TV feat

A LOCAL family have expressed their delight at their son's great achievement after he won his way through to the televised stages of a major darts tournament.
Daryl Gurney's grandfather John Speer and his mother Ann were over the moon after he booked his place in the World Professional Darts Championships.
Donemana man John, who remembers his grandson throwing darts with his father Tom many years ago, is thrilled the Tullyally man will be taking on the world at the Lakeside next month.

Gurney ready to take on the world

TULLYALLY man Daryl Gurney reached his target last week when he booked his place in next month's World Professional Darts Championships.
The prestigious competition, which takes place at the world famous Lakeside venue from Saturday, January 3, until Sunday, January 11, 2009, sees Gurney face England's Garry Thompson in the first round.
