The Sunday Vision online: Uganda: Orisa sets pace in regional darts open

Orisa sets pace in regional darts open

By Samson Opus

JOSEPH Orisa set the pace by reaching the final of the East Africa Darts Federation (EADF) in Nairobi but lost to Ibrahim Ambuta on Friday.

Kenya’s Ambuta survived from the jaws of defeat to edge the Uganda Police darts club top seed 3-2 in a thrilling game at the Shauri Moyo Hall.

Orisa who outclassed his opponent in scores, notched maximum three 180s to open a quick 2-0 lead. But he lost the finishing touch allowing the Kenyan number three to level the sets before the decisive winner.

Ambuta’s feat handed victory to Kenya in the Inter-State chart with 361 points. The Ugandan team of five men and three women finished second with 136.
