Tony Eccles booked a quarter-final clash against Mervyn King at the Lakeside World Darts Championship with a comprehensive 4-0 win against Shaun Greatbatch last night. The 37-year-old Teessider and fourth seed won the first five legs on the way to victory and has yet to drop a set at Frimley Green ahead of his clash against King.

South Bank's Tony Eccles sailed into the second round of the Lakeside World Darts Championships as North-east players celebrated a hat-trick of wins at Frimley Green.

Eccles trounced Welsh left-hander Mark Webster 3-0 yesterday without hitting top form to set up a clash with Shaun Greatbatch, a 3-1 winner over Paul Hogan.
