Time is drawing near, so if you plan to attend the event this year you need to get signed up before the day to get your free passes.....please don't leave it to the last minute.....
This year's Queen Mary Classic is again on the Presidents Day weekend, February 18th and 19th, 2012. It again does not coincide with the Camellia Classic, which is on the weekend before.
We are again offering the following events..... Blind Draw Doubles 501, Men's and Ladies Singles 501, Draw Mixed Trios 701, Men's and Ladies Doubles 501/cricket/301 and Men's and Ladies Singles cricket. The prize money is guaranteed $6,570.00.
Let's make it the best one ever for our 10th anniversary.
This event is a part of the Scottish Festival which is held annually on the ship and to get around the entry fee to the festival, we are again able to offer free passes for those that sign up ahead of time, either at The Dart Shop or by mail.
Entries by mail require a stamped addressed envelope for the return of the passes.
We will again have event shirts. Anyone planning to purchase one can make our life a little easier by ordering ahead of time with size, color and type of shirt preferred. We can then estimate how many to order without going overboard (excuse the pun).
There will also be a raffle for a flat screen TV and other prizes....$1.00 per ticket. They will be available for purchase at The Dart Shop in January and at the event. The drawing will take place on Sunday afternoon during the tournament.
We would welcome any donated vouchers, gift certificates or prizes to add to the draw.
For those planning to stay in Long Beach for the weekend, there are dozens of hotels/motels in the vicinity. It is a busy weekend in Long Beach so don't leave it to the last minute to book a room. It can always be cancelled closer to the time if your plans change. You can also go to www.visitlongbeach.com or, do as I often do and go to www.hotwire.com and check out what they come up with.
The Queen Mary gets booked up early and is quite expensive but it is certainly an experience if you get the chance to stay on board, ghosts included for free.
We will again have a steel tip blind draw at The Dolphin Lounge in Anaheim on the Friday evening (17th) starting at 8.30pm.
Any questions please either e-mail me or call the Dart Shop at 714-995-1993
Please let me know if anyone is wanting fliers sent to them by mail.
Look forward to seeing you all once again,
Jan

------------------------
Please do not leave getting your passes until the last minute....I would hate to run out!!
Also, make sure you allow plenty of time to get to the ship in the mornings as there will be 6,000+ other people also trying to get in on time for other events. They are not all playing darts, but it will be busy. You will pay parking on the way in this year and it has been reduced to $12.00 each day. We have also been moved back to the bottom of the convention area....good thing is, there are no bands playing down there this year so I will not have to compete for air time over the PA system! WE ARE NOT IN THE WINSTON SALON THIS YEAR.
I have again attached the flier for the Queen Mary Classic IX
This year's Queen Mary Classic is again on the Presidents Day weekend, February 19th and 20th, 2011. It is a little later this year and does not coincide with the Camellia Classic, which is on the weekend before.

PCH in Long Beach. Telephone 562-434-8451. It is quite a way from the QM but the rates are reasonable for that weekend. It is a busy weekend in Long Beach so don't leave it to the last minute to book a room. It can always be cancelled closer to the time if your plans change. You can also go to www.visitlongbeach.com or, do as I often do and go to www.hotwire.com and check out what they come up with.

Try and support this event if you can, we don't get too many steel-tip tournaments on the west coast and we need to support those that we have so as not to lose them.

An email from Jan Kid.....
Thanks to everyone for making the Queen Mary Classic V a huge success, and I think, a lot of fun. I will send out the final results when I get them in a few days time.
Some of the events started much later than we expected, and I apologize for that. We are already working on ideas for next year to start closer to the times advertised and to increase the number of dartboards.
I have a plea from one of the dartplayers that lost an Ipod on Saturday, for anyone who may have found it, to let me know as soon as possible, so that it can be returned. It may not have been lost in the dart area as he did visit other areas of the ship, but below is a description of the lost gadget...
It is black, with headphones and has an inscription on the back 'WALDO Sheik Yerbouti'
The return of this item would be really appreciated as it was a gift.
Thanks again,
Jan Kidd

Queen Mary Classic V
We are nearing tournament time again, don't leave it to the last minute to get your entries in. I have the passes and wristbands in the shop now. If you'd like a flier mailed to you, just let me know.... It is again in conjunction with the Queen Mary Scottish Festival on Presidents Day weekend on February 17 and 18, 2007.
Don't forget to please enclose a stamped addressed envelope for the return of your passes. If not, you'll find yourselves paying to get in to the festival and dart tournament, and paying again to play! We will again have event shirts for sale at the tournament, however if you would like to pre-order one, feel free to do so with size, color and type of shirt preferred (t-shirt or polo). That way I can estimate how many to get. We are starting a little earlier each day as our numbers are growing and we don't want to finish too late in the day, and besides, we don't want to cut into your 'partying after darts' time.
There will be a steel-tip blind draw at the Dolphin Lounge (formally Club Coronado in Anaheim), on Friday 16th February at 8.00pm as a warm up for the weekend. I have switched the events around a little so that the men's events start before the ladies.
The Downtown Holiday Inn is giving us discounted room rates until February 1st, 2007. Don't leave it until the last minute to book rooms either on the QM or at the Holiday Inn. It is always a busy weekend in Long Beach and rooms go quickly. If you book NOW you can always cancel closer to the time if your plans change. There are no discounts on the QM for rooms on Presidents Day weekend. Check their website for details www.queenmary.com
Any questions, either e-mail me or call The Dart Shop at 714-995-1993
Look forward to seeing you all once again,
