$15000usd 1ST PLACE SHANGHAI OPEN - SEPTEMBER
Hi everyone. I just want to put out a pre-announcement for a possible upcoming tournament I am helping out with in Shanghai China. If many of you have been to the once great Golden Harvest Tournament in Saskatoon Canada, CW and I are trying to have the tournament in Shanghai run similar.
The tournament is about 80% for sure going to happen, as last October I went over to Shanghai for PR work with PUMA and the tournament was not open to foreign players. They (the Government of the Xu Hui District), is fronting the money for the tournament and want to make it GRAND!!!
I will obviously put out a more detailed notice once I have been told the event will go on 100%. But for now, I will wet your chops and here is an initial breakdown of monies for the event. YES IT IS A STEEL EVENT! AND NO, THEY ARE NOT MAKING IT A PDC, BDO, WDF sanctioned event, this is going to be totally OPEN so everyone can attend!!!! ALL PAYOUTS will total USD $$$$. The venue will be held at a 5-STAR Hotel (approx $100US) a night room rate, with other options also available and the entry fee will be $100US for foreign players (anyone outside of CHINA). There will also be live MEDIA coverage as well by CCTV 5 - China's sports channel.
Now back to the minor details Laughing FIRST PLACE PRIZE IS SET and the rest should be the same, but once again still ironing out the minor details:
For the Men:
1st - $15000
2nd - $10000
Semi -$5000
Qrtrs -$2500
16's - $1250
32 - $500
64 - $250
For the Ladies:
1st - $5000
2nd -$2500
Semi-$1000
Qrts- $500
16's - $250
There will also be a blind draw on Thursday night, which will pay between $2-3,000.
Format:
Thursday night welcome social, drinks & blind draw.
Friday - Round Robin (Seated with current PDC, BDO, ADO rankings)
Sat- Round Robin (Seated based off of Fridays results)
Round Robin tentatively 15 groups with 10 in each.
Round Robin play will be 5 or 7 game format
Round Robin Rankings will be based first on Match, Games, then Heads Up
Sunday - Knock out round with top 128 (depending on #of entries) ALL PLAYERS MAKING KNOCKOUT ROUND ARE IN $$$$$$
After tournament ends Sunday, there will be an awards banquet and party!!!!
Trust me, I had first hand experience at how well you will be treated over in China. Many of you already have been to Asia & can confirm what I say!
The Shanghai Government really wants this to be an over the top event and I'm sure they won't disappoint. Just remember, you will need a VISA to go to China so prep in advance.

After the 'Pacmania' tournament was over I had a meeting with Manny and he told me that he will be backing another for $100,000.00 over the June 19-21 weekend in LA somewhere (venue to be announced soon).
