Phil Taylor secured a ‘sweet’ 16th World Championship at the age of 52 – another phenomenal achievement from a phenomenal darts star!

Taylor, who is now closing in on an incredible 100 ‘Major’ titles, proved that age is no barrier as he beat talented Dutch youngster Michael van Gerwen by 7 sets to 4 at the Alexandra Palace.

#darts The very first World Championship

Recently the first PDC Unicorn Women's World Championship was played. Unicorn was the main sponsor of the tournament but it was not the first time Unicorn was involved in such an enterprise. Years ago Unicorn already once was the main sponsor of another tournament, as well a World Championship. This tournament set up new standards and one probably can say it was the starting point of the "modern" tournament.

This very first World Championship seems to be some kind of "forgotten" World Championship which is quite astonishing because in it's second year during the tournament the WDF was founded as a lot of officials were there anyway...
The tournament even was televised on ITV.

Academy's Sean joins Unicorn elite

THE Unicorn Darts Youth Academy completed their fund raising day last Saturday and as a result look set to boost their funds by around £1,000 after a marathon 12 hour stint.

Sean White travelled to Nottingham this week to become the latest member of Unicorn, the world's ultimate darts team. The 17-year old becomes the second Academy player to achieve this distinction following Jamie Kelling's induction last year. (full article...)

Planet Darts - PDC Trio Progress But Taylor Misses Out

A DEFEAT to Michael van Gerwen saw Phil Taylor drop out of the Topic International Darts League as the final Second Round group games were played on Thursday.

The top two players from each group progress to Friday's Quarter-Finals, with only Mark Webster going into the third set of Round Two games assured of a last eight place.

IDL JOY FOR LEWIS + WADE AS TAYLOR TUMBLES OUT

Unicorn young guns James Wade and Adrian Lewis produced two of the best performances of their careers to book their places in the quarter-finals of the International Darts League.

But star man Phil Taylor is out of the tournament in Holland…..a dramatic defeat to Michael Van Gerwen, combined with Raymond Van Barneveld’s last leg victory over Darryl Fitton, sent Taylor home.
