Barry Hearn wants annual qualifying school for snooker

Snooker chief Barry Hearn says annual qualifying for a tour card would help prevent a "circuit for mediocrity".

With a seventh ranking tournament due in Berlin next year, the new chairman wants a pro tour of up to 20 events and has warned players not to be "lazy".

Soft-Tip blind draws and Laughlin leagues forming

There will be a soft-Tip Blind Draw at the Dolphin Lounge on Monday evening the 15th March at 8.00pm. Entry fee is $5.00 per person.

There will also be a blind draw at Lucky John's 4 a week from Tuesday, the 23rd, same entry fee.

I will be taking sign-ups for the new season which will start in a week or two. There are a couple of openings left for teams of two, so if you would like to play in the upcoming season please be there, or let me know in advance.

I also have a couple of openings for Sundays at the Dolphin at 4.pm and Tuesdays at Lucky John's 4.

All these leagues will count towards qualifying for The Desert Classic in Laughlin, which is at the end of September.

If necessary other leagues can be formed on different nights at either of the Lucky John's bars.

Don't leave it too late. I will be out of town from the 18th until the 30th so please let me know as soon as possible.

Laughlin Desert Classic qualifying Soft-Tip Leagues starting in 2 weeks.

Anyone interested please contact me as soon as possible. I only have a few spots left for Sundays, Mondays and Tuesday Doubles this time around. I could form leagues on other nights if enough are interested.

You will need 2 qualifying leagues before September to be able to play in the '2010 Desert Classic'.
September 29th, 30th and October 1st.

The total package costing $210.00 a person, includes 3 nights with 2 people sharing a room at The Riverside Hotel & Casino, 2 breakfast buffets, banquet tickets, 2 drinks at the banquet, awards and entry into the singles and doubles events. Jack and Jill or Blind draw events are extra.
The cost is a little less with 3 or 4 sharing a room.

Jenkins had some solid chances, but King did not miss an opportunity and wins 8-5.

Baxter played flawlessly against Whitlock to win 8-6

Premier League 3/4/2010 - Lewis v Wade

Lewis v. Wade was a great match with Wade taking the early lead, but Lewis was able to battle back to a 3-3 tie at the break. After the break Lewis again built a lead, and threatened to win all the points while at a 7-4 advantage. Lewis however was having none of it and forced a 7-7 tie. Favorite checkout of the match... Wade bull, bull, d16 to finish the 132.
