#Darts: Darth Maple coming to Crewe for exhibition - Crewe Chronicle

THREE-times world champion John Part is coming to Crewe next week.

The 45-year-old Canadian, who rarely does exhibitions, has agreed to do a show at Crewe Alex on Thursday, November 10 (7.45pm).

A spokesman for WTD Promotions who are organising the event said: “Getting John to come to Crewe is a real coup for us.

“He doesn’t do many exhibitions in this country but he is doing this one due to Crewe’s close proximity to Wolverhampton where he is to take part in the Grand Slam of Darts from November 12.

“Everyone who comes along has a chance to play against John via a raffle prize.

“But you can guarantee yourself a game by booking in advance also.

“We expect it to be another brilliant night for Crewe darts fans.”

WTD have already brought Simon Whitlock and Terry Jenkins to the town this year.

But Part, whose nickname is ‘Darth Maple’, is the biggest name they have attracted so far.

He won the PDC World Championship in 2003 and 2008, and scooped the PDO World Championship title in 1994.

That makes him one of only five players in darts history to be a three -time world champion.

Tickets are £9 (adults) and £5 (under 16s) from 01270 252610.

To play John, for £25, call 07582 265986.
