Acomb darts ace Adam Thompson wins

Acomb stretched their lead at the top of the John Smith’s Bulmers Men’s Darts League.

Adam Thompson (18) and Mark Hartley (19, 19) helped them to an 8-1 win over Britannia.

Volunteer’s Paul Botterill (16), Dave Mason (17, 18), Chaz Ramsden (19, 20), Paul Cooper (180 for 20, 20) and Mick Harris (180 for 19) consolidated second place with a 9-0 win over Flag.

Clifton had Martyn Turner (18), Neil Hart (16) and Chris Thompson (17) playing well in a 7-2 win over Crescent ‘B’, whose best was Andy Lawson (19).

New Inn’s Stu Limbert (15, 18) and Dan Robey (17) could not prevent a 5-4 loss to Shepherd’s, who had Tony Cooper (15) and Kev Walton (120 c/o) in form.

Division two leaders Tang Hall had Gary Jefferson (133 c/o for 21) helping them to a 5-4 win over Fox. (story source...)

Acomb aces win big-two battle

THE two unbeaten teams in division one of the John Smith’s Bulmers Men’s Darts League met and Acomb’s Adam Thompson (19), Mark Hartley (14, 180) and Keith Turner (180) ensured a 7-2 win over Clifton.

The victory was achieved despite the efforts of Clifton’s Martyn Turner (14, 16), Neil Hart (101 c/o for 15), Chris Thompson (20) and John Gothard (180).

Fulfordgate’s John Mooring (19), Mark Greenley (15), Andy Tams (108 c/o for 21) and Craig Wedge (19) could not prevent a 5-4 defeat to Volunteers, whose Paul Botterill (15), Dave Mason (19, 19) and Mick Harris (20) made the difference.

New Inn’s Jamie Harding (180 for 13) had the fastest leg of the week in a 5-4 win at Crescent ‘B’.

Shepherds had Dave Gibbons (16, 20) and Tony Cooper (16, 180) playing well but Ron Simpson (135 c/o), Paul Keers (180) and a deciding game win by Rich Plumber and Kel Frankel gave Crescent ‘A’ a 5-4 win.

Britannia’s Steve Snowden (111 c/o for 21) and Pip Oliver (100 c/o for 15) could not prevent a 6-3 loss at Flag.
