DAVE CHISNALL to make the move from the British #Darts Organisation (#BDO)

DAVE CHISNALL is relishing a “new start” after opting to make the move from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).

Former BDO world number one Gary Anderson has finally taken the plunge and joined the ranks of the PDC.

Scottish star Anderson has scaled the heights of both the BDO and WDF, but after a few years of being tempted he has finally decided to move across to the PDC circuit.

'Dreamboy' Anderson has made it to the semi-finals of both Grand Slam of Darts events, involving the top players from both codes of the game, and he will now go head-to-head with the likes of Phil Taylor on a regular basis.

The 25-year-old Welshman won the 2008 Lakeside Championship, defeating Simon Whitlock in the final, and is also a former International Darts League runner-up.

PHIL TAYLOR may have to take on THREE extra world champions as he bids to dominate darts again in 2009.

SunSport can exclusively reveal that current British Darts Organisation stars Mark Webster and Gary Anderson are set to join bitter rivals the Professional Darts Corporation.

The exodus to join the PDC and take on Taylor is planned after the BDO Lakeside World Championship ends on Sunday.

DARTS: Anastasia opts for a different circuit

FLINTSHIRE-based Anastasia Dobromyslova will compete in the World Darts Championship after opting to move onto the PDC circuit.
Current BDO Ladies World champion Dobromyslova has taken the final place in the preliminary round of the tournament following the withdrawal of an Indian qualifier, which saw that place awarded to a Russian representative.

The 24-year-old, who was the runner-up in the Winmau World Masters over the weekend, will become only the second female to compete in the PDC World Championship, succeeding Gayl King, who lost 3-1 to Graeme Stoddart in the 2001 event.

Dobromyslova to compete with men

Anastasia Dobromyslova, the women's world darts champion, will compete with the men at this month's World Championship at Alexandra Palace.

Dobromyslova yesterday quit the British Darts Organisation to join the Professional Darts Corporation, where she will be in the same draw as multiple world championship winners Phil Taylor and Raymond Van Barneveld. The Russian won the BDO women's world title in January and almost produced one of the sport's greatest shocks at last month's Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.

She hit back from 4-0 down against Wayne Mardle, only to lose 5-4. No woman has beaten a man in a professional event. Dobromyslova follows in the footsteps of the Canadian Gayl King, who became the first woman to compete with men in the world championship in 2000 when she was beaten in the first round. The draw for this year's PDC World Championship takes place today.

WES WINS THROUGH QUALIFIER

Wes Newton claimed a place in the PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts with a victory over Colin McGarry in the final of the ITV Wildcard Qualifier.

The Blackpool-based accountant earned himself a minimum £4,000 prize money by qualifying for next month's tournament at the Wolverhampton Civic.
