Anyone can run a MLD local event! Any city, any country, any venue
- Limited fields, based on the number of boards available (3-10)
- 1 day event
- Smaller entry fee ($50 or £30-35 or €50)
- Seeded using the current MLD ranking system (DBB for 2011)
- Assigned Chalkers!
- Same format: round robin, then best of 11 knockout, best of 5 consolation
- Similar payout percentage schedule
- NOT scheduled on the same day as a MLD Tour Stop event. MLD Local | Major League Darts
1. What is the purpose of the MLD?
a. To create the next North American world darts champion
2. How is the MLD different from other tournaments?
a. Long format, 501 singles events (no cricket)
b. High entry fees with high payouts and tournament pre-registration
c. Play begins with seeded round robin groups
d. Players advance from round robin play into either main event or consolation even which is a single elimination bracket match format
e. Main event is best of 11, Consolation event is best of 5
f. Main and Consolation events are seeded
g. All matches have assigned chalkers
h. Players accumulate points which go towards seeding for future MLD events
3. Long term vision
a. Provide a series of events for aspiring North American dart players to gain experience in long format 501 matches

BDO #darts aces to step up to oche in Selsey - Other sport - Bognor Regis Observer
Top BDO players head to the south coast for the first of two BDO-ranked tournaments to be held at Bunn Leisure in Selsey.
From June 24 to 26, Bunn host the England Open, which players from all over the south will attending, in the hope of getting a chance to play the idols and even world champion Martin Adams.

OPEN EVENT AT RUDHEATH £6.00 entry, open to everybody - Prize money dependant on entries. Come and support the youth. Guaranteed £100.00. Expecting it to be about £300+. Youth Event - U21 - £4.00 entry. The youths will be sperated into their age groups and ladies, they will then come to finals and play finally for the trophy at the end of the day. U18 U21 Ladies Each finalist will win a prize in the youth event. All Prize money dependent on entries. Let the youth put on a great event and support us. All players welcome. Swindon #darts star upsets PDC world champion (From This Is Wiltshire)
CHRIS Aubrey is on the cusp of breaking into darts’ elite after a brilliant victory over PDC world champion Adrian Lewis.
The Swindon youngster sent Lewis packing at the Eddie Cox Memorial tournament in Barnsley on Saturday.
Aubrey won a last-leg decider to triumph 6-5 in the second round, after Lewis had missed a shot at bull to win the match.

TEENAGER Garry Thompson is the youngest ever Barrow and District Mixed Darts League House Champion, Champion of Champions.
The 17-year-old – a big-hitting batsman for Furness CC – showed he can also hit trebles and bulls-eyes as well as fours and sixes, by beating some very experienced players to the coveted crown.
