What does March 15 mean to you? Some are aware that the 15th is known as “the Ides of March”, which is the date (in 44 BC) on which Julius Caesar was slain.

#darts The ideal scenario would be for the two federations to unify...
Darts- BDO Versus PDC.
For a sport (no arguments here, please), as small as Darts, it seems somewhat surprising that there are two separate organisations representing the game. As a youngster slowing becoming encapsulated by the nerveless accuracy of these beer guzzling athletes I could never understand how there were two World Championships occurring at the same time, on the BBC and Sky Sports respectively.

#darts - Leagues of Our Own - Part 3
Steve Brown's blog.
I really hadn't intended dragging this league stuff out into three parts, but that's precisely what's happened! There are a few other facts – and little quirks, simply associated with league matches – that you may find interesting.

I know that some leagues in the U.S. do this, but it seems that very few rely on an open draw for the evening's games; many rely on the captains choosing who plays who, usually dependent on ability. In Britain, most draw for opponents, although sometimes they play “pairs (or fours) across the board”. All that means is that the pairings are based on position within the team - 1 plays 1, 2 plays 2 etc. This is most common in fours and pairs, and is rarely used for singles. It's called “across the board” as the teams are invariably written up on the chalkboard.

Darts Administration in Gibraltar - Blog
Well its night time and I head off to the super league so that I can prepare the spreadsheet ready for input. Tich brings the laptop so I quietly sit down and get on with it. It took me from 8pm to 9:45 to get all the names in and blanking everything out for the start of the season but I am happy that's over and done. (full post...)

uniBoffin - blog post
Well, Happy Birthday to me! I shall be/am/was one year old on 23 October! Don’t let me stop you if you want to send an expensive present!
OK, it may not exactly be my genuine first birthday (I wish!), but it is the uniBoffin’s. It’s just a year since that particular Creature arose from the Big Boss’s Black Lagoon of dubious nom-de-plumes so that yours truly could avoid the personal reprisals that might otherwise have resulted from burdening the darting public with unasked-for dissertations on static margins and moments of inertia. Three weeks, three events. Wiped out! Goint to try to avoid that in the future if possible.
Started the trifecta with the Colorado open. Rob and I won the Cricket doubles beating Bill Davis and Donny Joe, and lost the 01 final to local boys Dan Moore and Ruben Blea. Continued my streak of finals in the doubles, followed by poor showing in the singles.
Next up was the San Francisco Open... (the rest at - http://www.scottyburnett.com/Blog.html)

iGoogle Darts Theme (post link)
Just like most things I seem to come across, iGoogle had no themes for darts. So, just like the screen savers I made for my phone, PDA and laptop I decided that needs to be addressed and submitted a darts theme.Monday, October 20, 2008

a blog post worth checking out... Zeeple's Blog
The "Shoot It Forward" Campaign (you can click this link)
I am thinking of a big idea. Today I was throwing some of the lighter sets in my collection and these include the Imagination darts from the German company Evolution. They were generous enough to send me a set of darts hoping to spread their brand name around the states some since they are less well known here. I have sent them my thoughts on the darts but I want to continue helping

New Jersey Darts: Dart For Dreams Tournament Initial Report
Pictured above is Gary from the Greater Trenton English Dart League (GTEDL), which sponsored the Dart for Dreams Charity Dart Tournament at the VFW Hall in Hamilton, NJ yesterday. The proceeds go to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. Dart players paid $5 admission at the door, and then paid $5 to throw 100 darts. Each hour between 2 and 8 p.m., the high score winner received a cash prize. I arrived around 3 p.m. with my friend Greg from Freehold.
