A record 54 Ugandan darts players left yesterday with a vow to sweep the Kenyan Open in Nairobi this weekend.
The contingent, led by Uganda Darts Association chairman Abbey Ariong, includes the national team of five men and three women, who will also feature in the East African Darts Federation (EADF) Inter-state Championships starting on Saturday.
“Our eyes will be on the top prize. This time we are better prepared,” vowed Ariong before departure on Thursday.
The EADF tournament brings together the cream of darts players from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. Kenya are champions.
