HAVING spent the weekend watching how the game should be played courtesy of Mr Taylor in the World Matchplay, it was time to put what I’d learned into practice on Tuesday.
The Kings Head were up against tough opponents, the Runt in Tun from Heathfield.

Great preformance by Raymond van Bannneveld! #darts
Andy Hamilton was leading 3-1 when Barney really put it into gear and took the match 6-4. Both players scored and finished well, but Barney just seemed to have that extra edge. It was truly edge of the seat match, and a joy to watch. The crowd was clearly on Barney's side, and in good voice.

#darts The Parkhill Youth Fundraiser! 2011
A message from "Rocky"
After a year off from fundraising, the Parkill Youth Darts Fundraiser is back in full tilt.
Date booked for September 17/2011, at the Parkhill Legion.
Format and times will be announced at a later time.
Again I'm hoping for the great generosity of the dart world out there for a bit of support on this. We have had some great donators in the past from World Champions, to top pros to regular dart players to businesses.
This year we are starting fresh, with a $0. Bank account.
Funds raised from this silent auction event during our tourney will go toward team shirts for the kids, dart supplies (as I usually try to supply everything needed for them to enjoy the sport).
Also helps pay for some travel we do as a team to many local tourneys.
We also have an end of the year banquet for the kids, to show their appreciation and love of the sport, and to show we care and would love to have them back next season (as more and more always do return).
So here's my request to everyone out there, darts, shafts, flights, shirts, novelty items, passes, signed programs, anything and everything that would be good for a silent auction is greatly appreciated.
As I stated, we didn't do this last year as we still had a small balance in the account, but this year were starting with zero, so it desperately needed.
We always have a good turnout for this event, usually around 80 players (not bad for only 10 boards), so the more the merrier!
No such thing as too small or too big, every penny helps.
And as always, the leagues books are always open for anyone to see where the money has went, we are 100 percent NON profit, so every penny raised goes toward the youth players.
If you would like to donate anything, or have questions, please feel free to email me or message me here and I will be happy to reply!
As a side note, in the six years I have been working with the Youth League, I have given away over 40 sets of darts, thousands of shafts and flights, cases, shirts, and supplies, along with making our fundraising totals reach over the $2000.00 mark, every penny going right back to the youth players, so as you can see, this is something close to my heart, and I'm hoping some of you can help make our league bigger and better this year!
If you're going to email use this one;
Dartfan180@hotmail.com
Thanks in advance!
Rocky

For years Dartoid’s World has made the case that the center of the darts universe has been shifting.
Now it has.
I have written that the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) should wake up and smell the noodles, that it should take its act to Asia. It hasn’t.

#darts email stack - ADO area 3-1 Summer
Upcoming tournaments and events:
22-24 July is the Freedom, Tournament, in Austin, TX. I have attached the flyer. Please note that the hotel has been gracious and has extended the cut-off for the block until Friday, 15 July.
If you have any problems, then please e-mail me at this email or at rd3-1@adodarts.com. or Jim Walderon mad_chalker@yahoo.com. Go ahead and make your reservation and then e-mail one of us the confirmation number and the name on the reservation.
If you wait until the week before the tournament, the block rate may not be available. But let us know anyway, as we will try to work with you.
19-21 August is Waco's first 3-day tournament - Hotter than Hell. It is their first time in a hotel - the Waco Hilton - which is located downtown, by the Brazos River and the historic Waco Bridge (which was the scale model that was built before the actual Brooklyn Bridge). I have attached the flyer.
The next weekend - 26-28 August is the TSTC (Texas State Team Championship). It will be held at the Black Gold Bar, in Crowley Texas. You can get information from Chuck Reynolds hcda@houstondarts.org or from the website http://texasdarts.org.
Two weeks later is the Holiday on the Beach Open (HOBO), down in Corpus Christi. It will be 9-11 September, at the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach. Flyer is attached.
One month later, the Halloween Open will be in Austin, along with the U. S. Team Nationals. The dates are for 6-9 October. There is a blind draw scheduled for Thursday, as part of the tournament. Friday, the U.S. Team Nationals will be held, starting that morning, usually around 10 or 11. For those of you that are playing in the Nationals, please contact me (Elaine Bohls at rd3-1@adodarts.com). I will need to know when you are arriving and a valid e-mail address so that I may send you information. I have attached the tournament flyer. Also, if you are coming to the Freedom, you can go ahead and make your reservation for the Halloween, that weekend.
Cricket Qualifier Changes for Nationals
As some of you may already know, the ADO has instituted a new qualifying format for the Cricket Nationals. The biggest changes are that there can be more than one qualifier per region that goes straight to Nationals, players from other regions may play in any other region's scheduled event, you can play in as many as you want and that each qualifier will be based on raising the $880 and the winner will qualify directly into the Nationals, so entry fee will be $110 per player, basically. The dates of any qualifier, anywhere, must be posted at least 2 weeks prior to the event, online, and they must be approved through the Regional Director/Area Manager chain. Chek out the ADO website, http://www.adodarts.com/, for the information and for updates. Also, check with you Regional Director and/or Area Manager.
For those of you in Region 3-1 (or in any of you that would consider coming to Region 3-1, to participate), I am looking at running at least three - one in the Houston-Beaumont area, one in the Valley and one in the Austin-San Antonio area. We may have more, depending upon the participation and the interest, or there may be fewer, again, based upon the participation and the interest. Please give me input as to what you think. I will be working with Area 3 Manager - Chris Helms.
...Thanks for coming out and supporting darts and the ADO Youth Scholarship program

maybe a good #darts podcast domain for sale...
With several darts podcast happening these days I thought I should share a forum post I read today... I've had this domain registered for several years thinking it was perfect for a darts podcasting website, but my laziness and physical location (a world away from anything "darts" related) has hampered my doing anything with it, lol. DartsRadio.com up for grabs...
It expires on July 3rd, 2011 and I'm not registering it any longer. I'm not looking to get rich on it, but want it to go to someone that will hopefully do something worth while with the name.
If you are interested in it, email me your offer to webmaster"at"theoche"dot"com. As I said, not looking to get rich so NO OFFER TOO LOW!! Smile I just don't want it to get grabbed by a parking site, as it is a good domain name I think.
If you want it, you have to have paypal and a godaddy account so I can transfer it to you. I'll give it to the highest offer as of midnight July 2nd CST.
I'm doing some soul searching on the issue...but TheOche.com may be up for grabs in the near future as well.
