Bill Turner, former ADO Board member, and husband of ADO Director of Office Operations Katie Harris, passed away Friday Aug 20. Bill was a longtime player and Area Manager, and will be missed by all who knew him. Details on a Celebration of Life for Bill to be held in California will be available at a later date.”
For those who have not heard:
I lost Bill Turner on August 20th. He had checked into USC University Hospital for a 'tune-up' and 'liver transplant'. Two livers were offered but were determined to be 'too fatty' for Bill's body. Infection set in his lungs and his body could not fight it off even with all the best anti-biotics. Then his organs began to shut down and that was it. I was able to stay with him 24 hours a day the last 3 days and held him as he went.
There will be a short article on him in the summer issue of Double Eagle. It will ship next week.
For those who are local - a Memorial Shoot and Celebration of Life will be held at the Dolphin Lounge - 1274 Magnolia - Anaheim, CA 92804 on September 18th at noon. Bill's son from West Virginia will be joining us. Bring your darts and best stories. Hope to see you there.
