A Fun Event with former World Champion Dennis Priestley

I must say that the SBDA hosted a marvelous event at Dargan's Irish Pub , Santa Barbara CA sponsoring a dart exhibition by former World Champion Dennis Priestley. Dennis has an impressive resume in the darting world:
England International
World Champions Challenge Winner
World Champion 1991 – 1994
World Pairs Champion
Winmau World Master
British Matchplay
SKOL Quadro Matchplay – Twice
British Pentahlon
British Open
Welsh Open
Canadian Open – Twice
Australian Masters
Pacific Cup
Laughlin Gran Prix USA
Boston Open USA
Los Angeles USA – Twice
Atlantic City USA – Twice
Antwerp Open – Twice
Jersey Open
Isle of Man – Twice
Gold Cup – Twice
British Classic

Eric Schiefen & Phil O'Niell of the the SBDA ran the event; Eric soliciting players to face Dennis and Phil running the video camera to record the event.

The event was setup to allow anyone who wanted to play Dennis would face him in 501 on stage in front of everyone in that section of the bar. Winning 2 out of 3 (lose the first leg and you are out of the running) earns a set of Dennis' signature darts. Dennis played 22 legs of darts winning them all, throwing 3 – 8T0's & a 13 dart game on the night.

News that caught me off guard on the night was Bobby English, long time Ventura County Darts Assoc member, sharing with us that he has retired from darts effective as of the end of our last VCDA season and was reluctant to come out of retirement to play Dennis. After swapping a few darts stories and some friendly convincing he came out of his retirement for the night and played a leg against Dennis, of note Bobby was one of the few to take the cork against Dennis. Mick Farrell (VCDA) also faced off with Dennis a couple of times.
