The Premier League dream is over for Unicorn trio Colin Lloyd, Peter Manley and Adrian Lewis after all three were beaten on night 12 of the 2007 tournament in Blackburn.
But Phil Taylor powers on…..he demolished Lloyd to secure top spot ahead of the play-offs and extend that remarkable unbeaten Premier League run to 40 matches.
The top four for the semi-finals in Brighton will feature Taylor, Raymond Van Barneveld, Dennis Priestley and Terry Jenkins. Mathematically, Roland Scholten could still catch Priestley but he would have to win his final two matches 8-0 or 8-1 and hope Priestley loses his last two games by the same score…..realistically, that isn’t going to happen.
