Whether a sport or just a game, dart throwing has gained enough popularity in the Tall City to develop regionally competitive players and a July 28-30 tournament with teams from Lubbock, San Angelo, Abilene and Midland.
It has its own parlance with 'putting him out,' 'flights,' 'the oche,' 'a leg,' 'doubling out' and 'Ton 80' being key terms.
The Permian Basin Dart Association 'Dust Bowl' event will match 12 men and six women from each city in complex '501' and 'Cricket' games on 21 boards at the new Midland Dart Center at Cactus Lanes Bowling Center."
