This past weekend, Nipawin was proud to host the Provincial Youth Dart playdowns. Youth players from across the province arrived to try to capture a spot on Team Saskatchewan. Eight youth made up the team, including two senior boys (age 16 and up), two senior girls, two junior boys (age 15 and under) and two junior girls. An alternate for each age group is also selected in the event that one player cannot attend. This years’ National Youth Dart Championships are being held in St-Hyacinthe, Que., May 14 to 17.
The competition was tough and only one Nipawin player earned a first place finish. Megan Lyons repeated her performance from last year and came out as top junior female. (full article...)
