Sky Sports - BARNEY BACK IN PREMIER LEAGUE

"BARNEY BACK IN PREMIER LEAGUE
Thursday 2nd November 2006

Raymond van Barneveld will again fight it out with the PDC's best players after being confirmed as the first wildcard selection for next year's Holsten Premier League.

Barney joined the PDC in a blaze of publicity when given a wildcard into last year's tournament, and that decision was fully justified as he proved to be a real rival top Phil Taylor.

The 39-year-old Dutchman was only defeated once during the league stages before he was beaten in the semi-finals by Roland Scholten.

The Dutch superstar announced his brilliance with a thrilling nine-darter, the first in the Premier League, in front of 3,000 fans in Bournemouth.

Veteran Priestley has powered up to third in the world after a superb season, while 'Tucker' Jenkins just pipped Mardle to sixth after making the final of the Sky Bet Grand Prix in Dublin.
