I found this tourney info while checking some dart forums....
Hi all,
This tournament all started because I MENTIONED that it would be a good idea for a ladies only tournament to get more of the ladies in the area out there and playing. Little did I know that this was going to come of it!!
You can also find the flier for by clicking this link
It really is taking on a life of it's own. The generosity of Unicorn/Billiards and Darts Canada (UniDart here on the site) as well as Double D co. and of course our own Leah (Phoenix) as well as Condor sports has blown us away!! And we have yet to approach the businesses in town to put together some baskets to raffle off also.
Here is some quick info on the tournament. It's on the long weekend in May, May 19th.
The first 20 ladies registered are recieveing a gift bag full of some amazing goodies.
We are raffling off items over the day to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Campaign.
If you aren't wearing pink . or if you just want one, pink ribbon items will be available to purchase and of course again all proceeds go to breast cancer.
There will be draws all day long.
Like I said above this tournament is taking on a life of it's own. I think we are just along for the ride... and I would also like to point out that this is the FIRST time either Leah or I have ever run a tourney!!! But we are already looking ahead to next year. We have discussed prizes for the team that comes from the longest distance next year... and talked to a local bed and breakfast on giving the players a "darters rate". (which they agreed to this year if we have people coming up to stay)
I think it would be awesome to have it as a yearly event and would be even more awesome if other areas joined us !! I bet if there were a bunch of concurrent tourneys happening we could have some interesting competitions between them such as best turnout, longest travel to attend, most money raised and so on... (see what I mean about a life of it's own??? just be gentle with us since we are new ok lol)
This is going to be a learning experience for us for sure. So I'm sure there will be some "interesting" stories to share along the way lol!!
If anyone is interested in coming by all means the more the merrier!! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!! My phone number is on the flier even if you would like to contact me that way.
More chat about it on SEWA-darts.com
