Webster wants some time off

Mark Webster has confirmed that he will take some time away from the game to recoup the energy needed to compete again.

The left handed thrower was disappointed at his own performance at this year's Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship and knows that he needs to find some focus.

While some of the darts never went his way, Webster could be guilty of putting himself under too much pressure to retain his Lakeside crown.

Ted Hankey went on to win the top prize as the Denbeigh native was forced to ponder what went wrong for him at the oche when John Walton sent him crashing out in the second round.

"I haven't been playing well," said Webster.

"I'm taking a break for at least a month and then I will get back to it."
