Like Christmas, the PDC World Darts Championship at Purfleet in Essex appears to come earlier each year. And, equally like Christmas, only an unreconstructed Scrooge or similar freelance misery-guts could have a problem with that. Heck, for many of us, the cockle-warming sight — and sound — of darts players roasting in an open Circus Tavern practically is Christmas. Peace on earth, good will to men? Game shot and the match!
