SOUTH Elmsall qualifier Mark 'Nitro' Lawrence put up a brave fight in his defeat to Terry Jenkins in the First Round of the Ladbrokes.com World Championship.
The world number 64 lost 3-1 in sets to world number 6 Terry Jenkins at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet.
Lawrence lost six of the first seven legs to go two sets down before he hit back with back-to-back 180s to take a splendid 13-darter and claw the game back to 2-1.
Jenkins took the fourth set without reply to ensure his passage into the last 32.
Lawrence said: 'I was slow to start and I missed a few doubles and it gave him the chance to win some legs and eventually he went 2-0 up.
