PUREFLEET, England (CP) - Gerry Convery of Winnipeg lost 3-0 to Steve Beaton of England at the Ladbrokes.com world darts championship Wednesday.
Beaton, the 1996 world champion, took the first set 3-0, including 100 finish in the second leg and a 12-darter to move clear in the match. Beaton also won the second set without reply from Convery, although the Canadian twice pressured his throw without being able to get off the mark.
