Seven-time champion Taylor is the current world number one
Phil Taylor and Andy Hamilton will meet in the quarter-finals of the World Grand Prix in Dublin on Thursday after both came through the second round.
World number eight Hamilton had to come from two sets down to defeat Scot Robert Thornton 3-2.
Taylor, the seven-time Grand Prix champion, did not lose a leg as he defeated Colin Osbourn 3-0.
The Stoke pair will now meet for a place in last four, with the winner facing Mervyn King or Dennis Preistley.
