COLIN ‘JAWS’ LLOYD faces a fine and possible ban for flicking a V-sign at darts fans.
The former world No 1 caused uproar at the Sky Poker Grand Prix in Dublin after beating Kevin Painter in a five-set thriller on Wednesday.
The Essex heavyweight fired his salute after taking abuse for missing a double.
He then threw his darts across stage, missing the referee by inches.
PDC chiefs have referred his behaviour to the Darts Regulation Authority.
Lloyd had sensationally come back from two sets down to beat Painter 3-2 and qualify for the quarter-finals against Raymond van Barneveld tonight.
It was a sweet victory after Lloyd’s ex-manager Rod Harrington blasted him for being overweight and not practising enough.
Lloyd, 35, said: “Rod was out of line. I was recently diagnosed as a diabetic. Almost overnight the problem of tiredness has been solved. I feel like my old self again.
“It’s been a long, hard road for me. I’ve battled with a lot of demons.
“So it would be brilliant to shut up the critics and win another major title.”
Dennis Priestley also came back from 2-0 down to clinch a 3-2 triumph over Wayne Mardle.
The Menace, who is being treated for prostate cancer, said: “I’m totally drained. I need rest before I face Mervyn King.”
