Triple Crown lead the way

Local darts continues to be dominated by a perennial threat.

Team Triple Crown, last year’s undefeated champions, is on top of the 2009 Guiness Dart League.

After week nine the club is on top of the A division at 8–1 with 16 points. Leading the way for the club is veteran Hank Ebanks.

“The Hammer” has won seven of his eight games this season and notched some 36 tons.

Close on their heels are team Fidel’s at 8–1. Mark O’Keefe and Eddie Balantine lead the way with 36 and 29 tons respectively.

Corner Pocket Regulars and PD’S Pirates are tied for third at 7–2. Earl Smith is keeping the Regulars in it with 44 tons while Arthur Ebanks is pacing the league in tons with 50.

Harrows are at the bottom of the division at 5–4. Johnny Dulnagen has been the biggest contributor with 29 tons and one 180.

The B division sees a three–way tie for first place. Wednesday’s Excuse, CP Shafters and team Centerspot all are 3–6. Robert Arch (17 tons), Neil (30 tons) and Oliver (27 tons) lead the teams respectively.

CP Delinquents are struggling at 1–8. However Andrew Wight has not, notching 17 tons and an unbeaten 4–0 mark.

In the cellar is Spoilers, who are winless at 0–9. Cassius Anglin has contributed with 19 tons in spite of his 2–6 mark.

League games are played at 8pm every Wednesday.

The league uses six different venues in Corner Pocket, The Doghouse, Fidel Murphy’s, PD’s Pub, Triple Crown Pub and Centre Spot sports bar.
