Te Amo set to step up to national spotlight - Manawatu Standard: local, national & world news from Manawatu's daily newspaper

Anita Te Amo wants to make the New Zealand team within five years, but is aware there are some tough players ahead of her.

The Palmerston North 19 year old had a good run at the national championships, culminating in her making the North Island B team, which beat the South Island at Arena Manawatu last night.

Te Amo went to her first national senior championship at the age of 12. She now feels ready to match the big names in women's darts.

'There are some very tough players, especially the likes of Janette (Jonathan), Megan (Smith) and Mihi (George), and with only two places for women in the New Zealand team it won't be easy,' she said."
