A lot of people play darts for fun at their local watering hole. At most locations, darts are free to play, it's not a strenuous activity and for the most part throwers are novices, making the game competitive for those involved.
George Silberzahn, author of How To Master The Sport of Darts, calls the game a 'great ice breaker.' Some people use darts to socialize and enjoy a friendly game, while others take the game more serious."
