VENTURA COUNTY DART ASSN. PLAYS HOST TO ITS FIRST $5040 AMERICAN DART ORGANIZATION (ADO) SANCTIONED TOURNAMENT

Amongst the physical sport of the Seaside Highland games, the Ventura County Dart Association presents Gold Coast Shootout I, an American Dart Association (ADO) steel tip sanctioned tournament. It is the first of its kind in Ventura County and a prize fund of $5040 is guaranteed.

This first-time event is being held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 West Harbor Blvd., Ventura, Ca. 93001, in the Santa Cruz Hall on October 11th and 12th 2008. This event is being held in conjunction with the Seaside Highland Games which is celebrating its sixth year.

Match Play starts at 10:45 am Saturday and Sunday. Events run until 6:00 pm. Registration for each event closes 20 min before event start time. This event is open to all dart players age 18 and over. Age verification will be strictly adhered to, and there will be 10 men’s and women’s events open to all.

The event fee schedule ranges from $15.00 - $35.00 per event, depending on event type. These fees are in addition to the gate fee and parking fee for the Seaside Highland Games. Pre-registration reduces gate fee price. Interested participants may visit www.vcda.org .

In addition, for the non-dart players, there will be a chance to win an iPod! Each contestant will throw three darts at the board. The highest score at the end of the weekend will win the iPod! (This event also restricted to adults, 18 and over.)

The VCDA is dedicated to promoting the sport of darts throughout the county of Ventura and neighboring cities and counties of southern California. Conducting a dart tournament at the Seaside Highland games is one way of promoting dart activities, as well as introducing the sport to the general public.
