The moment: Junior darts

We are witnessing a darts renaissance. For years, the sport was written off as unfashionable, unhealthy and confined to fusty pubs: a working man’s game at odds with youth and aspiration. But, aided by legendary darts commentator Sid Waddell’s 2007 book Bellies and Bullseyes and celebrity players like Phil “The Power” Taylor, plus increased television coverage (4.5 million followed January’s WPDC final), darts is muscling back into the mainstream.
