MANILA, Philippines—Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao left early Friday morning for Britain with a reined-in confidence that he can conquer British junior welterweight sensation Ricky Hatton, the current king of the 140 lb ranks, in their May 2 fight in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao and Hatton will jointly hype up their much-awaited clash in a whirlwind publicity campaign in Britain that includes a darts competition between the two prizefighters.
“I am looking forward to the promotional tour that will be held in London and Manchester this weekend,” said Pacquiao in a statement.
After the tour, Pacquiao will head straight for Los Angeles, where he will hook up anew with American trainer Freddie Roach at the famed Wild Card gym in Hollywood to open camp for the Hatton fight. (full article...)
