THE MOTHER of a young boy who had to have both his legs amputated after being struck down by meningitis today said she was overwhelmed by the support the family had received from well-wishers.
Thousands of pounds have been raised to help care for Archie Barton, two-and-a-half, who had to have his legs, parts of his fingers, the tip of his nose and some of one ear removed.
Mum Nicky Barton said: "The fundraising has been brilliant. It's amazing what everyone has done for us. I don't know how to describe how the family feels about it all, to be honest."
The latest money-spinning stunt is at the Seymour Arms in Greenbank tomorrow, which is holding a 24-hour pool and darts marathon. (full article...)
