Meloy Pechera of the Bacolod City Water District and Rodney Billote of Silay City outplayed the tandem of Melvin Adeva and Michael Dalapatan in the finals to bag the championship honors for the month of August in the monthly darts tournament organized by the Association of Negros Darters and Darts Clubs at The New Tops Millennium Plaza in Bacolod City.
Pechera and Billote racked up wins in the Classified Draw Doubles tournament format -- 501 best-of-three -- to stay unbeaten in the winners’ bracket and enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage in the finals.
Adeva and Dalapatan, on the other hand, had to dispose the pair of Diutay Divinagracia and Edwin Millan to earn the right to challenge Pechera and Billote for the title.
But the early leaders proved to be too classy for Adeva and Dalapatan who lost their bid for the title in two straight legs of the first set and settled for the first runner-up honors.
Divinagracia and Millan were named second runner-up while Rommel Bagotayao and Benzy Oñate placed fourth.
The winners received cash prizes and trophies from the organizers.
Meanwhile, local darters are encouraged to keep busy practicing for the 9th Masskaa Darts Invitational set October 11 and 12 at the New Tops Millennium Plaza.
Expected to join the tournament are darters from San Carlos, Dumaguete, IloiIo, Kalibo, Roxas, and Cebu cities.*NAB (Source Link...)
