Big-money darts event

THE oche at the Bluebird Club is calling for Furness darters in a new big-money competition.
The Bluebird Grand Prix is up and running at the Holker Street venue and the area’s throwers are being invited to try their luck at winning the newest trophy on the calendar.
The competition is played on Tuesday nights until May 26, with each weekly winner qualifying for the Grand Final at the Bluebird Club on Tuesday, June 9.
There are both men’s and ladies events, each played in five-leg 501 format as a straight knockout.
The men’s winner will collect £500, the runner-up £250, the losing semi-finalists £75 each and the losing quarter-finalists £25 each.
The ladies winner will take home £250, the runner-up £100 and the two losing semi-finalists £25 each.
The competition, sponsored by the Bluebird Club in association with Carlsberg UK, costs £10 entry for men and £5 for women and entries will be taken on the night.
Qualifying events take place on April 21 and 28 and May 5, 12, 19 and 26.
