The Nassau Darts Association is ready, revved up and rearing to go for the upcoming season. It should prove to be exciting this year, as there are 29 teams, an NDA record. The teams have all registered and are practicing for the start of the season, all with hopes of glory and championship success. The NDA is also proud to announce that V-Fusion, a V8 product, has agreed to sponsor the league for the next two seasons.
The league is now known as “The NDA V-Fusion League”. According to one of the leagues public relations officers, Christian Knowles, “this announcement is fantastic and could not come at a better time for the league.”
He said it also is a “clear indication” that despite the lull in the Bahamian economy, there are some brands out there, such as V-Fusion that is willing to support the local sporting teams and associations.
He said the NDA is also very thankful to all of the team sponsors, as they are the “engine that drives the league.”
The NDA V-Fusion 2008/9 Season is scheduled to officially begin October 1st, 2008 and will run
until June, 2009.
However, the prestigious prologue to the season, the annual Captains Shootout, was contested
last week and 22 teams participated.
Brian Turnquest of AC Viper Snipers was the winner after he beat out Bill Casale of Toddless
Tunas.
“It was a great tournament and a fantastic preparation for the upcoming season,” said Knowles.
Knowles said the NDA also wishes to thank all of the venues that have partnered with them and
agreed to host darts every Wednesday this season. “Without them, darts would become stifled
and eventually lost,” he said.
