Master marksmen ready for cancer fundraiser

SOME of the world’s best darts players will be in Aberdeen on Friday to take on local amateurs in aid of a cancer charity.

Mark Webster, the BDO World No.1, will be joined by World No.9 Tony O’Shea, World No.8 Darryl Fitton and British Open champion John Henderson at the Sunnybank Club in a bid to raise funds for the urological cancer charity UCAN.

The event is being organised by Kay Duncan, a keen amateur player, who arranged the night after one of the challengers, Matt Goldie, was diagnosed with bladder cancer.

The other challengers are Scott Campbell, Melv Johnston and Mike Murray.

Kay said: “It is a real thrill to have secured four of the top darts players, who are taking the time to come to Aberdeen for this special event.

“It’s sure to be a great night of action and a good laugh as well as raising money for such an important local charity.”

Tickets, priced £10, are available from Kay on 07901 928 657. (story source...)
