Gainsborough ready for big darts tournament

LINCOLNSHIRE Darts are ready to take on the mighty force of the county of Cumbria at their all new premier playing venue at The State Club, Church Street, Gainsborough.
The B team play on Saturday 29th November at midday and the A team play on Sunday 30th November also at midday.
Local property developers Derek and Paula Jacklin have put together a sponsorship deal with Peter Swann on behalf of Lincolnshire Darts and they are looking to hopefully get The State nominated for an England match that would be the icing on the cake for Lincolnshire.
Mrs Jacklin has been appointed as Lincolnshire's image creation co-ordinator and Mr Jacklin has been appointed as the commercial manager of Lincolnshire Darts.
He has also just secured another coup for the darts with Hilton Hotels for the accommodation when they play away matches.
As far as Gainsborough is concerned nearly 600 players will be staying here over two days.
Both of Maggie Lamport's hotels, the White Hart and the Sun Hotel, are fully booked, Ms Lamport seizing the opportunity and helping the county with reduced rates.
Accommodation further afield is now being sought.
The new playing attire - the dazzling darts shirts of the ladies complete with diamante collars, and the men's in silver and matching black - will no doubt dazzle the opponents into defeat!
Mrs Jacklin said that the hype on the day will be a show in itself as the atmosphere at the last match with the buzz factor that Lincolnshire Darts was on the up was sensational.
The overwhelming response from local businesses has been unbelievable, each one sponsoring an advert in the programme and that has bought the new county shirts, said Derek.
Many players and officials travelled to see the venue for the first time and they are all pictured.
All the support of the locals will be needed to help defeat the mighty force of Cumbria in the first home match on 29th/30th November.
Anyone wishing to travel away in January 2009 please contact Derek Jacklin on 07903 865058.
