MANILA, Nov. 18 — A total of P100,000 will be up for grabs in the 1st Arch. Joel Songsong Darts Masters Open set Saturday and Sunday at the Toy2 42nd floor of the Lancaster Hotels along Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong City.
The Open doubles (Draw) will be held Saturday with P30,000 in store for the top eight teams with the winner pocketing P14,000. Mode of play is 501/701 double elimination.
In the Open Singles on Sunday, the top 16 darters will vie for P70,000 with the champion winning P30,000.
Registration for both events, organized by Songsong & Periquet Architectural and Interiors in cooperation with the Darts Councilof the Philippines (DCP) and sponsored by Manny Santos, Danny Ngo, Sta. Elenn Stone, Terton Craft, starts at 1 pm on game day.
Songsong was a top darter during his prime. In 1987, he was the National Open ingles men’s champion (first staging). The following year, he was the Philmasters Singles men’s champion. He represented the Philippines in the Asia cup IV held in Hong Kong in 1988. (PNA)
