The country’s top darters are expected to see action in the P2-million Manny Pacquiao International Darts Classic slated on Dec. 12 at the Lagao gym in General Santos City, the organizing National Dart Federation of the Philippines (NDFP) announced yesterday.

Darters from as far as Baguio City in north and other key cities have already registered for the country’s biggest darts tournament in honor of boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, himself a darter.

The GenSan fighter has already sponsored previous big darts tournaments in Digos, Davao del Sur and Gen. Santos City.

"We expect more than 500 darters to join the event. Marikina for instance is sending a contingent of 16 darters and not all of them are vying for the cash prizes even if the men’s open champion gets to receive a record P320,000 cash prize," said NDFP’s Tito Soncuya.

Others who have already signified their interest to take part are OFW darters based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
