They say charity begins at home, and inaugural John Smith's People's Darts champion Tim 'Teapot' Jones is the proof.
Tim from Neath in South Wales scooped the £15,000 jackpot for his nominated charity, Arthritis Care, in front of a packed house at Lakeside and the live BBC TV cameras.
His triumph was a fitting tribute to his mother, Sheila, who is housebound due to her severe arthritis. Tim is his mum's full-time carer, and so Arthritis Care's work is close to his heart. The generous donation of the prize money will help us to continue to support people living with arthritis in the UK.
