Seventh women's darts title for Jordan

FEW words are left to describe the achievements of Linda Jordan (Manx Arms) who collected her seventh Douglas Masters darts title sponsored by Smirnoff last week.
The final matches unfolded at the Manx Arms and in the quarter-finals Maxine Harrison (O'Donnell's) and Tracy Brennan (Manx Arms) both progressed into the semi-finals with 2–0 victories.

In the third match Janet Maynard (Manx Arms) defeated fellow team-mate Mandy Marran 2-1 before reigning champion Jordan (140, 180) defeated Wendy Andrews (Manx Arms) 2-1 thanks to a brilliant 11-dart leg.

In the semi-finals, Jordan continued her outstanding form defeating Brennan 3-0 to reach yet another Douglas darts final.

The other semi-final went the same way with Maynard defeating Harrison by the same 3-0 scoreline.

The final got under way with Jordan racing into a 2-0 lead before Janet Maynard hit back to level the game at 2-2. The champion hit top form in the fifth leg hitting 140 and 100 in order to secure a brilliant and outstanding seventh Masters title.

A big thank must go to the Manx Arms for hosting the finals evening and to Sara Corkhill for marking the board and presenting the trophy at the end of the night. (stroy source...)
